The Wine Estate

Domaine de Sarros is located opposite the Pyrenees mountains, 10 minutes away from the city of Pau (Préfecture des Pyrénées Atlantiques), between Biarritz and Lourdes.

Located on the famous Béarnais hillsides in the Pyrenean Piedmont since the beginning of the 19th century, the estate occupies an area of 2.12 hectares.

Domaine de Sarros was renovated and replanted in 2005 in order to restore its winemaking vocation, which was abandoned after the second world war. Since this date, the entire estate is committed to the practices of organic farming.

Three of the most emblematic grape varieties of the of the Jurançon wine region are cultivated on the estate: Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, and Lauzet.

The wine harvests are done manually at the Sarros Wine Estate. They generally range from the end of September (dry white) till the end of November (sweet white), depending on the maturity of the grape.

Our wines are aged in our cellars, in French oak barrels for 10 to 14 months (depending on the vintage). They are then bottled on the estate (dry 50%, sweet 50%).
